JConsole

This is so annoying. Every glassfish install I have done has allowed me to connect to the JMX port 8686.For some reason I CANNOT connect to one of the instance installed on Ubuntu 6. They are all the same config but different OS.The glassfish is v2 b33.Please can someone help! I can connect to it when I am on the local machine but remote I can't. If I telnet name.domain.com 8686 I am presented with a black screen (which I am assuming means I am connected). How can I diagnose what the heck is going on? This generally works out of the boxThanks-- Kenneth ClarkDeveloper / AnalystRabid Dog Laboratories ^(TM)Putting the art back into development*tel:* +27 11 475 7409*mobile:* +27 82 500 5090*e-mail:* kenneth@rabiddog.co.za*website:* http://www.rabiddog.co.za/[att1.html]

What other OS have you tried this on? I'd suspect you've got somefirewall etc automatically activated in Ubuntu that you're runninginto, given that it works locally but not remotely.WayneOn 4/24/07, Kenneth Clark <kenneth@rabiddog.co.za> wrote:> This is so annoying. That was my initial thought as well but the telnet from remote hosts works. I had one of our network guys have a look and can't find any firewalls on the machine. The other OS include:Centos 4.4FreeBSD 6.xWindows XPThey all work. The only difference is that the one it is not working on is running KDE, the others aren't running any XWindows. But I don't see how this would be a problem.Kenneth ClarkDeveloper / AnalystRabid Dog Laboratories ^(TM)Putting the art back into development*tel:* +27 11 475 7409*mobile:* +27 82 500 5090*e-mail:* kenneth@rabiddog.co.za*website:* http://www.rabiddog.co.za/Wayne Fay wrote:> What other OS have you tried this on? I have resolved the issue. Stupid problem! I would find one of the linux distros that emulates this behaviour http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6209663I resolved it as specified in the urlThanks for the inputKenneth ClarkDeveloper / AnalystRabid Dog Laboratories ^(TM)Putting the art back into development*tel:* +27 11 475 7409*mobile:* +27 82 500 5090*e-mail:* kenneth@rabiddog.co.za*website:* http://www.rabiddog.co.za/Kenneth Clark wrote:> That was my initial thought as well but the telnet from remote hosts > works.
